CRAVEN- William J. of Ridgewood died on June 21, 2018 at The Valley Hospital in Ridgewood. Born in North Adams, MA, he has resided in Ridgewood for many years. William graduated from Williams College and then earned his Doctorate Degree in Organic Chemistry from Cornell University.
Before retiring, Bill was employed by Playtex Co. of Paramus. Bill was a long-time dedicated parishioner of Our Lady of Mount Carmel Roman Catholic Church in Ridgewood. He was active for many years in the Knights of Columbus and was a member of the Knights of Columbus Council 1736 in Ridgewood where he was a past Grand Knight. He was also a Fourth Degree Knight and past Faithful Navigator of the Joseph F. Lamb Assembly. He was a member of the Hobbyists Unlimited of Ridgewood.
He was for many years, along with his wife Ann, an active volunteer with several charities including Missionaries of Charity and Eva’s Kitchen.
He is survived by his beloved wife Ann (nee McGrath) Craven of Ridgewood. Also surviving are many loving nieces and their families.
