Therese Portogallo, 89, of Ho-Ho-Kus, died January 16, 2022 at the Hackensack University Medical Center.
She was born March 10, 1932 in Woodside, NY, daughter of the late George and Mary (Gorman) Quenneville. Therese was predeceased by her husband Joseph Portogallo.
Therese held a master's degree from New York University and worked for many years in the New York City Public School system where she taught French and math in high school.
She was an avid reader and enjoyed studying world affairs and politics. She especially liked attending the Great Decisions workshops.
Therese was a beloved sister, aunt, and great aunt. She was devoted to her family and spent countless hours helping them in difficult times.
She had many friends whom she loved and she was loved dearly in return.
Therese is survived by her sister Anne Thornett, her nephews Richard Thornett (Susanna Baird) and Robert Thornett, her niece Cathy Quinn, and cherished grands Wesley and Annalise. She was predeceased by her sister Mary Quenneville.
