Suzanne Godart

Suzanne Godart, 96, passed peacefully away in her home on July 26, 2021.

Suzanne was surrounded by her loving family and fabulous care givers.

Suzanne was a proud mother , grandmother and great grandmother.

Suzanne was born in Vienna, Austria October 8, 1924 to Leo and Julianne Gottlieb. She moved to New York in 1937 and then to Ridgewood, NJ in 1951. Her biggest love of her life was her loving Husband, Fritz, who passed away in 1986.

Suzanne is survived by her four children, Jill Mathe (Jerry), Glenn Godart (Martha), Jeff Godart (Marsha)  and Tom Godart(Brenden). Her Grandchildren, Denise and Gregory Mathe (Melissa) ,Peter and Kevin Godart, Matt (Abby) and Rea Ann Godart , Caroline Godart and her Great Grandchildren Lucy and Henry Mathe.

Suzanne was a graduate of Columbia Teachers College majoring in Art and in Ridgewood was an active, very successful real estate broker with a career spanning 45 years.

A long time parishioner at St. Elizabeths Episcopal Church in Ridgewood Suzanne was also active in arranging flowers at Kurth Cottage at Valley Hospital, Social Service Association, College Club, Ridgewood Jr. Women’s Club and Family Counciling.  A determined athlete she was a long time member of Upper Ridgewood Tennis Club, Indian Trail Club  and Ridgewood County Club.

Memorial contributions may be sent to St. Elizabeths Church 169 Fairmount Rd, Ridgewood, NJ,  in memory of Suzanne.

A memorial service will be held at 11:00 AM on October 9, 2021 at Arcola Country Club, Paramus, NJ.
