Tribute

Richard E. Byrd, 93 of Midland Park, formerly of Manahawkin and Closter, peacefully passed away on December 25, 2020. He is survived by his loving wife Theresa (nee: Morreale) and their beloved children: son Glenn Byrd and his wife Joan, daughter Debra Hofmeister and her husband Ray, and son Richard and his wife Anita. Adoring Pop to Jonathan (Yasmine), Jaclyn (Kevin), Kelly (Wayne), Casey, Justin, Kristen, Kimberly, Katherine and Emmalyn. Great-grand-pop to Wyatt, James, Mason, and Vienna. Richard proudly served our county in the Navy. In his spare time Richard delighted in fishing, boating, golfing and spending time at the shore with his friends and family. He was the President of his AARP chapter in Beach Haven West and the President of the Beach Haven West Civic Association. He was a proud member of the Old Guard and a member of the Italian American Club. Visitation will be held on Wednesday from 8:30 – 9:30 at Feeney Funeral Home, Ridgewood. Prayer Service will begin at 9:00 am. Interment to follow at New Jersey Veterans Memorial Cemetery. In lieu of flowers donations may be made in Richards name to Family Promise of Bergen County.
