Ray Kane, Korean War Hero, loving husband of Gloria Kane, dies at 86
Raymond J. Kane, age 86, passed away surrounded by his loving family, after a long battle with cancer. Beloved husband of 62 years to Gloria (Iovine). Loving father of Cheryl (Roger), Donald, and Donna (John). Adoring grandfather of Theresa (Jared), Jessica, Erica (Nick), Catherine, Julia, Joanna, and great grandfather of Jace. Revered uncle to many nieces and nephews, and Godfather of Frances. Devoted brother of Celia and Irene. A Marine Corps Veteran of the Korean War, Raymond was a parishioner of St. Luke’s RC Church, Ho-Ho-Kus, where he was also a member of the Knights of Columbus. He was a member of the Senior Lucans, and Past President of the Waldwick Athletic Booster Association. He was a Supervisor at Bendix and then at Honeywell. He loved tending his garden and beautifying his lawn. A devout sports fan, he loved Notre Dame, the NY Giants, and golf. He and his son Donald enjoyed harvesting lemons from their lemon trees, and he and Gloria relished many trips to Ireland, Italy, and other European destinations. The Funeral Mass will be Wednesday 10:30 AM at St. Luke’s Church, with interment to follow in St. Luke’s Cemetery, both in Ho-Ho-Kus. Visiting Tuesday 4:00 – 8:00 PM at the Feeney Funeral Home, 232 Franklin Ave, Ridgewood.
