Longtime Ridgewood resident, Dr. Peter C. Loder, PhD, 87, passed away on February 14th, 2022. Peter was a brilliant, kind, and humble man who had endless time for family and friends. Born and raised in Marion, Oregon, he adventurously relocated to NYC to attend Columbia University for his undergraduate and masters studies, and then received his doctorate from Wharton School of Business. He went on to be a Professor of Political Science for 25 years at both Rutgers and Bucknell Universities. Then in the early 1980s he and his wife Nancy shifted gears and began working independently in the emerging field of Computer Science. He later became a consultant for Computer Sciences Corporation (CSC) until his retirement in 2004. Peter had a deep appreciation for opera, theater, and the arts and expressed himself through his lifelong hobbies of gardening, painting, reading, and traveling. Peter was predeceased by his wife of 41 years, Nancy Cavanaugh Loder, and former son-in-law Daniel J. McKenna. He is survived by his daughters Nancy McKenna Breuning (husband Louis) & Amy Loder, and his grandchildren Daniel McKenna & Madeline McKenna. We are thankful for his loving heart and his long life.
