Paul Frederick Wiener passed away on the morning of Saturday, September 12th, 2020 at the age of 73. Paul was born in Clifton, NJ to Heinrich and Evelyn Wiener (deceased). He resided in West Milford, NJ, before finally settling with his family in Ridgewood, NJ. Paul graduated from Lehigh University in 1969 with a Bachelor’s of Science and a Bachelor's of Arts degree. After teaching Biology and Chemistry at Butler High School and Astronomy at Morris County Community College, Paul went on to get a Masters of Science degree at the New Jersey Institute of Technology. He ultimately moved on to an accomplished career in the Medical Laser Technology Industry. Recently he passionately worked on funding for laser research to ultimately correct macular degeneration.
Paul loved intellectual pursuits and was studying quantum physics. Paul was always active and fond of the outdoors. He loved to ski, golf and play tennis. He ran three NYC marathons and proudly completed the Talon challenge at Beaver Creek ski resort at the age of 70. Paul was happiest with his family and friends particularly when at their beach house in Mantoloking, NJ and their mountain home in Beaver Creek, CO.
Paul’s unerring kindness, infectious optimism and his enthusiasm for life are, and will continue to be, priceless gifts to his family, friends and all who had the privilege of knowing him. Paul is survived by his loving wife, Jeannette; two sons: Dale, wife Dior and Jeffrey, fiancé Christina Neuman; grandchildren: Kiefer and Waverly, brother, Howard Wiener; and two nephews Todd and Kenneth Weiner.
The family will be receiving visitors on Monday, September 21, 2020 from 4pm – 8pm at Feeney Funeral Home - 232 Franklin Ave, Ridgewood, NJ 07450. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in Paul’s name and memory to a charity of your choice.
