Nicholas Pellegrino
June 15, 1933 ~ March 18, 2020 (age 86) 86 Years Old
Nicholas (Nick) M. Pellegrino, resident of Ridgewood, passed away on March 18, 2020 at the age of 86.
Born on June 15, 1933 in Port Redding, NJ, Nick attended Woodbridge High School (Class of 1950), graduated from the University of Notre Dame (Class of 1955), and served in the U.S. Army from 1955-1958. After being honorably discharged, he went to work for SSC&B, a NYC-based advertising agency, his sole employer during his 45-year career.
Nick was a true pioneer on Madison Avenue. His skill as a film producer was well known and contributed to the success of all his clients—from Cover Girl to MasterCard. A seasoned photographer himself, he brought his artistic vision to all his projects. He was much respected by his peers and co-workers for his talents.
A devout Catholic and Democrat; a life-long fan of the New York Yankees and Notre Dame Fighting Irish; and a lover of film, travel, and music, he will be most remembered for his kind and generous heart and his love of family.
Nick is survived by his beloved wife of 57 years, Norma; his two daughters, Andréa and Maria; his grandchildren, Nicole, Matthew, and Anthony Richards; as well as his nieces, Ann Sutherland and Joan Destefano, and nephew, John Destefano. He is predeceased by his sister, Marie, and his parents, Nicolas and Antoinette.
Due to current Covid-19 restrictions, a service will take place at a future date (TBD). In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to Covenant House International or St. Jude’s Children Hospital.
