Mary T. Stella

Mary Theresa Stella (Curasi), 90 of Rochester, NY, formerly of Ridgewood, peacefully passed away on December 28, 2020. She was predeceased by her husband, John Louis Stella, who passed away on January 2, 1976. Mary was born and raised in Bronx, NY, and ultimately settled with her husband in Ridgewood where they raised their three children. Mary is survived by her daughter Rosemary Granwehr and her husband Stephen of Naples, FL, and her son John and his wife Lisa of Manhattan. Mary was predeceased by her oldest daughter, Kathleen Leackfeldt and her husband Keith of Fairport, NY, who each passed away in 2016 and 2020 respectively. Adoring grandmother to Stephen Granwehr, Scott Granwehr, Eric Granwehr, Ashley Simek (Granwehr), Taylor Leackfeldt, Paige Leackfeldt and Eloise Stella. Great-grand-mother to Melody Granwehr. She was predeceased by her brother, Felix Curasi of Walnut Grove, CA, and is survived by her sister, Rose Boemio of Marietta, GA. Mary was an avid reader, cook, and lover of theatre and music. She worked for close to 25 years following her husband’s death at a small publishing firm. Her joy in life was her family, especially seeing each of her seven grandchildren grow and flourish. Viewing and prayer service will be held on Friday, January 15th from 11:30am to 12:30pm at Feeney Funeral Home, Ridgewood. Interment to follow at Christ the King Cemetery, Franklin Lakes.
