Mary J. Rizzo, a resident of Ridgewood for over 70 years, passed away on September 2, 2018. Mary was predeceased by her beloved husband Ben in 1987, and her cherished daughter Joanne Robles in 2014. She is survived by her dear children Paul Rizzo and his wife Karen of Florida, Louise Cervera of Rochelle Park, Peter Rizzo and his wife Toni of Matawan, Carol O’Neill and her husband Jack of Waldwick, Richard Rizzo of Allendale, Maria Rizzo of Midland Park, and Michael Rizzo of Ridgewood. Mary is also survived by 16 grandchildren, 7 great-grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews. Mary was a longtime parishioner of Our Lady of Mt. Carmel RC Church in Ridgewood, where she was a member of the Rosary Society. She was also a member of the Historical Society of Ridgewood. Mary loved being with her family and friends, and will be greatly missed by all who knew her. The Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Friday at 10:00 AM at Our Lady of Mt. Carmel RC Church, 1 Passaic Street, Ridgewood. Entombment at Garden of Memories, Washington Township. Visiting Thursday 2:00-4:00 PM and 7:00-9:00 PM at the Feeney Funeral Home, 232 Franklin Avenue, Ridgewood. In lieu of flowers, donations in Mary’s name to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital (stjude.org) would be greatly appreciated.
