Loretta Vinci, 87, of Waldwick, passed away on May 5, 2018. It was the 62nd Wedding Anniversary of she and her beloved husband Louis, who predeceased her six months ago.
Loving mother to Fred and his wife Sue, LaurieAnn and her boyfriend Peter Cifarelli, Louis F., and Jeffrey and his wife Melanie Saladino. Adoring grandmother to Michael and Nicole Vinci, and Alyssa and Kaila Saladino. Favorite aunt of many nieces and nephews.
Loretta shared a special connection to the Blessed Mother. She was proud of sharing the same birthday as her, and chose to marry her husband in May, the Month of Mary. She was a longtime parishioner of St. Luke’s Church, Ho-Ho-Kus.
Loretta had a thirst for knowledge, and she pursued this by attending adult education classes, avid reading, and always becoming well-informed on current events and politics.
Loretta was known for her generous, kind spirit and huge heart. She was selfless and gave her love to her family and friends in many ways, including through her fabulous cooking and creative projects such as Ceramics, Knitting, Crocheting, and "Mod Podge", to name a few. It was this creativity coupled with her nurturing personality that made her an exceptional Girl Scout Leader. Loretta was a gifted seamstress, hand making ties for the men in her family as well as fantastic Halloween costumes for her children throughout the years.
Loretta thoroughly enjoyed music and dancing. She had an eclectic taste, and appreciated music from 50’s rock (her favorite) to current pop music. Loretta was the life of the party, and the joy she brought with her wherever she went will be sorely missed.
Visitation will be held on Thursday from 5:00 PM - 9:00 PM at the Feeney Funeral Home, 232 Franklin Ave., Ridgewood. A Funeral Mass with be held on Friday at 11:00 AM at St. Luke's RC Church in Ho-Ho-Kus, with interment to follow in St. Luke’s Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations made in Loretta’s name to Saint Labre Indian School, Ashland, MT 59003-9989, would be greatly appreciated.
