Kenneth Anthony Chiavelli, of Ridgewood, passed away peacefully on November 7th. Beloved husband of Lori Kocsis Chiavelli. Devoted father of Karyn Durnal and her husband Dave, Anthony Chiavelli and his fiancé Danielle Buckler, and Kenneth Chiavelli Jr. and his wife Laurie. He is preceded in death by his father Carmine Chiavelli and mother Annette Chiavelli and his stepmother Jeanne Chiavelli. He was a loving brother of Dennis, Phil, and Michael. Adoring grandfather of Jordan, David, and Chesala Durnal, Skyler Chiavelli, and great grandfather to Nayeli.
Kenneth grew up in the Bronx and was a resident of Ridgewood, NJ for over 35 years. He was an innovative artist, graphic and industrial designer. While working for graphic design studios in New York City, he designed product and packaging for clients such as Seagram’s, Clairol, and Consolidated Cigar Corp. His graphic design earned him awards from Graphis Annual, recognition from the American Institute of Graphic Arts, as well as several art publications. Ken was also Operations Manager for Ram Products until his retirement in 2001. Ken’s interest in visual arts spanned the collection and restoration of antique furniture and classic automobiles. A skilled craftsman in these areas, he also returned to painting.
The family will receive their relatives and friends on Friday November 10th between 4-8pm at Feeney Funeral Home, 232 Franklin Ave, Ridgewood, NJ. Services will be held on Saturday November 11th at 8:30am at Feeney Funeral Home, followed by a mass at 9:30am celebrating Kenneth’s life and faith held at Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Church at 1 Passaic Street, Ridgewood, NJ and interment will follow at George Washington Memorial Park in Paramus, NJ.
