Tribute

Joanne "Jody" McCambridge was an extraordinary woman. She was a devoted wife, mother, Mamore (grandmother) and friend. Jody passed away after a 2 year battle with cancer on December 30, 2019. She was born on August 22,1946 in Brooklyn, New York to the late Joseph and Marie Leonard. 
Jody graduated from St. John's University in 1968. While in college she was an avid athlete. She not only swam on the college swim team, but was also captain of the of the fencing team, leading them to be second in the nation. She went on to be an esteemed teacher in New York and New Jersey before retiring to spend more time with her beloved family. 
 
Jody is survived by her loving husband Jack McCambridge, brother Joseph Leonard and wife Julianne, son Kevin McCambridge and wife Tricia, daughter Amy McCambridge and husband Mark Steppe, daughter Natalie Davin and husband Francis and grandchildren; Torin Jacobs, Jack Steppe, Meghan McCambridge, Aston and Witton Davin.
Jody  will be remembered by the world as a sparkling and burning light who illuminated, inspired, and guided her family to lead lives filled with joy and unconditional love. Her natural charisma, curiosity, enthusiasm, and love nourished and guided us all. She taught and instilled in us all what we could be, how we could give, and what a well-lived life was. 

Visitation is from 4pm to 8pm Thursday January 2at Feeney's Funeral Home, 232 Franklin Ave, Ridgewood, NJ.  A funeral Mass will be offered on Friday at 10 AM at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church, 1 Passaic St., Ridgewood. Burial will follow at Valleau Cemetery, 546 Franklin Turnpike, Ridgewood. All are welcome to join us for a celebration of life following the burial at: The Shannon Rose, 1200 Rt. 17 North, Ramsey, NJ at 1:00 pm. 

In lieu of flowers, Jody has requested donations go to her charity of choice which is the Unbridled Heroes Project.
