Joan Donovan
January 28, 1935 ~ December 14, 2019 (age 84) 84 Years Old
Joan Donovan, 84, peacefully passed on Saturday, December 14th at Allendale Community for Senior Living. Joan was born in New Rochelle, on January 28, 1935 to James and Frances Pedicano. She attended St. Gabriel’s High School and later married Denis Donovan (1956 to 1981).
She was the loving sister of Ernest, Frank (1939 -2018) and Jimmy Pedicano. Joan will be remembered best by her 5 children and their spouses, Cathy Sposato, John and Suzanne Donovan, Frances and Edward Bakker, Kerri and John O’Rourke and Nancy Farnsworth, as a tried-and-true, impassioned grandmother to her 15 pride and joys: Catherine and Brandon Huffman, Kristin and Brian Spiers, Peter Sposato, Megan Donovan, Elizabeth and Chad Cochran, Kiley Donovan, Matthew Donovan, Brett and Kelly Bakker, Ryan and Rachel Bakker, Casey Bakker, Brianne O’Rourke, Deirdre O’Rourke, P.J. Farnsworth, Taylor Farnsworth and James Denis Farnsworth. She was also the loving great grandmother to Grace and Cole Huffman, Charlotte Spiers and Nolan Bakker.
Joan was a voracious reader, lover of tennis and crossword enthusiast. She will certainly be remembered for her holiday traditions including specialized, annual Christmas ornaments for every grandchild, making cookies, Pasta e Gasciata and the Feast of the Seven Seas.
The Memorial Services will be held on Thursday, December19th at 1:00pm at our Lady of Mt. Carmel RC Church, 1 Passaic Street, Ridgewood.
In lieu of flowers, donations to Autism Connections, 116 Pleasant Street, Easthampton, Ma, 01075, in honor of her two grandchildren, would be greatly appreciated.
