It is with great sadness that the family of James “Jimmy” Lipari announces his sudden passing on Monday, December 7, 2020.
James was born on May 9, 1962 to Marion (Bashaw) and Joseph Lipari. He spent most of his adolescence in Passaic, NJ with his three siblings—Joseph, Anne, and Marilynn. He played every sport imaginable, and was a decorated varsity athlete in every season he played—especially in baseball and basketball. Although he had professional-level love and talent in sports, he decided to pursue a career in the family meat business and became a successful sausage maker. In business, he was known as the type of guy to mail a shoe to an elusive prospective client with a note that said “Now that I have my foot in the door, give me a call to get the other shoe.” In his late 20’s, he had his first daughter Gianna, followed by Gelina two years later, and Justina two years after that. His greatest pride was being a father, and he raised his daughters to be smart and successful no matter where they were in the world, much like himself. He was also a proud uncle to his niece Anne Marie and four nephews, Joseph, Joseph, Michael, and Santino; a beloved godfather to many; a second father to the friends of his children; and a cherished friend to so many people for so many years. He loved to travel and saw much of the world doing so; he loved to eat, play golf, fish, and explore off the beaten path. He was the best at everything he did, he could figure everything out (except for a computer), and he was a model for everyone around him, both at work and at home. His charisma, energy, and humor left a lasting impression on everyone that came across his path.
James is survived by his three daughters (Gianna, Gelina, and Justina), and his siblings Joseph, Anne (Joe), and Marilynn (Joe). He was predeceased by his parents Marion and Joseph.
Faith was very important to James, and we invite all who wish to celebrate him to join his family in his services. Visitation will be Friday, December 11, from 2-4pm and 6-8pm, at Feeney Funeral Home 232 Franklin Avenue, Ridgewood, NJ 07450.
