Horacio Villalba, 84, of Prospect Park, New Jersey passed peacefully on January 17,2024, surrounded by his loving family.
A devoted husband to Fidelia for 66 years., Devoted father to Giovanni, Longwood Florida and Miguel, Syracuse NY, and Daughter in-law Joanne. Loving Grandfather to Ani, Alex and Michael.
He was the cherished brother of Julio of Florida, Miguel of Ohio, Luis Alberto of Washington, Arturo of Tennessee, Roberto of Ohio, Fernando of Ohio and Elizabeth of Ohio. He is pre-deceased by his brother Guillermo who was his most cherished brother.
Horacio lived a full life of 84 years. He is the third of 9 children born in Bogota, Colombia. He was the child of Julio and Birtha Villalba. He arrived in the United States in 1967. He was able to save enough money to bring his family to the U.S. in 1969. We settled first in New Rochelle, NY because he loved the Dick VanDyke show. Afterwards his devotion to family led him to Prospect Park, NJ where he lived across the street from his beloved mother. He had a dream for his children to have opportunities he never had. His greatest devotion was to his family. His most cherished human value was being a good person which included kindness, service to others and providing grace.
His interest included fishing in his youth. Love for the sport of cycling with his family and friends. Throughout his life he participated in various charity rides. He passed on his love of sports to his sons which included soccer. He cherished time with his grandchildren. His greatest joy came from providing for others in need. Those who truly knew him knew his kind and gracious heart which found the good in each person he met.
He was beloved by all who knew him, and he was Flaco to everyone.
