Helen A Pursley

PURSLEY, HELEN (Prebola) Of Ridgewood, April 26, 2018. Helen, 82, passed away surrounded by her family following an 18 month battle with esophageal cancer. Helen was the daughter of Andrew Prebola and Sophie (Guzic) Prebola, grew up in West New York, NJ and graduated from Memorial High School in West New York. She married William in 1969, moved to Ridgewood, NJ and raised two daughters with him. Helen enjoyed supporting her family and celebrating milestones; her deepest pride and joy were for her two daughters and four young granddaughters. Helen is survived by her loving husband, William Pursley; children, Diane Pursley and Diane’s husband Curt Wu and Darlene McAvoy and Darlene’s husband Paul McAvoy; granddaughters, Lauren and Veronica Wu and Olive and Pascale McAvoy; brothers Eugene Prebola and his wife Patricia and Thomas Prebola and his wife Julie; and many nephews, nieces and cousins and their children and grandchildren. The family would like to express its appreciation to all our friends and neighbors for their generous support and kind care to Helen during her illness as well as to Villa Marie Claire Residential Hospice for the support and care Helen and her family experienced during her final days in hospice.
