Gloria Rebecca Heitzman (nee: Watchler), 92, passed away peacefully on January 30, 2021 at home with her family. Born is West New York to Maria and Frank Watchler, she was the last of the nine Watchler girls. Gloria grew up in West New York and was a proud graduate of Memorial High School where she was voted ‘Best Dressed’. It was there she met her husband Alfred, whom she married in 1953. They settled in Paramus in 1955 and raised two children, Janis and Alfred who predeceases her. She is also survived by many loving nieces, nephews and family members with special thanks for her kind caregiver Rita. She was a faithful parishioner and a member of the Rosary Society at Annunication Church. Gloria was proud of her long career as a secretary for Burns and Roe in Oradell and for a telephone company in New York. A devoted wife she loved to entertain friends and family, spend time at the Upper Montclair Country Club, summer in Point Pleasant Beach, and dote on her grandson, Todd Mazula. Her last memories were her most treasured, those of her youth spent with her parents and sisters. Apropos of the fact, Gloria likes to tell you she was a “good kid” Visitation will be held on Tuesday from 2-4 and 7-9 at Feeney Funeral Home, Ridgewood. A Funeral Mass will be held on Wednesday at 10:00 am at Annunciation RC Church, Paramus. Interment to follow at Fairview Cemetery. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to St. Jude or to The Alzheimer's Foundation of America
