Genevieve K Lizza

Genevieve “Jean” Lizza, 95, passed away on December 31, 2020 while in hospice at the Christian Health Care Center in Wyckoff, NJ. Born in Bayonne, Jean lived in Ho-Ho-Kus and Mahwah for over 55 years before moving to Christian Care. A legal secretary and homemaker, Jean also volunteered for many years at the Kurth Cottage Café Restaurant in The Valley Hospital in Ridgewood, NJ.
Jean was an avid traveler, especially across the United States and Canada, as well as a history buff passionate particularly about America’s colonial and Revolutionary War period, especially as it pertained to her beloved New Jersey. Predeceased by her loving husband Arthur in 1990, Jean is survived by her three sons, Arthur, James, and Robert, and three grandchildren, Cassandra, Charlie, and Patrick.
Services are private under the direction of the John J. Feeney & Sons Funeral Home, Ridgewood, with burial at Saint Luke’s Roman Catholic Church, where Jean and her husband were longtime parishioners. A memorial celebration of Jean’s life will be scheduled after the Covid-19 pandemic has abated.
