Emily C. O'Connor

Emily C. O’Connor (nee Sullivan), age 87, of Ho-Ho-Kus, NJ, passed away peacefully on Friday, January 18, 2019, surrounded by her loving family. She was born in Boston, MA and moved to Ho-Ho-Kus in 1969 with her husband and two children. Emily spent her career working for 27 years at Sharp Electronics in Mahwah, NJ as a Department Manager. She was a devoted member of St Luke’s Parish in Ho-Ho-Kus, NJ and served as a Eucharist Minister for many years.  She enjoyed traveling with her family, and church group to Ireland, Japan, Hawaii, the Virgin Islands, and Jerusalem. While Emily enjoyed all of those destinations, her favorite remained Cape Cod, MA. Predeceased by her husband Paul J. O’Connor, brother Francis Sullivan, and sister Mary Sennott. Survived by her loving sister Joan Butler of Old Orchard Beach, ME. Loving mother to Joan Pilkington and husband William of Allendale, NJ and Patricia Einstein of North Grafton, MA. Devoted grandmother to Stephanie Tashiro and husband Jun of Arlington, VA; Janelle Einstein of Stamford, CT; and Jaclyn and Connor Pilkington of Allendale, NJ.  Loving great grandmother to Hayden and Gale Tashiro of Arlington, VA.  Emily is also survived by her nieces Kathy Golden, Helen Butler, and her nephew Joseph Sennott. Emily had a lifelong love of horseback riding, Irish music, and dancing. She relished in being a grandmother and loved spending time with her grandkids. Visitation will be held on Friday, January 25th from 5-8pm at Feeney Funeral Home, 230 Franklin Ave, Ridgewood, NJ. Funeral mass will be held on Saturday, January 26th at 10:00 am Saint Luke’s Church, 340 North Franklin Turnpike, Ho-Ho-Kus, NJ. Interment to follow at Saint Luke’s Cemetery. Feeneyfuneralhome.com
