Emil Loeffel

Emil Loeffel, 86, of Waldwick, peacefully passed away at home on January 18, 2020. Emil is predeceased by his wife Joan O’Keefe Loeffel and his wife Jeannette Mims Loeffel. Left to mourn his passing are his dear children, son James, daughter Carin, step-daughter Dawn, step-son Thomas and his wife Patti, and step-son Kenny. Cherished grandfather to Carin and Tabitha. Beloved uncle to Kristen, Jason, Heather, Catlin, Melissa, Kelly, TJ, and Christopher. Adoring brother to William Loeffel and his wife Mary. Uncle to Gary, Keith and Wendy. Emil was an accomplished master mechanical engineer. In his free time he enjoyed walking and biking and proudly walked all 2,192 miles of the Appalachian Trail, to many he was known as ‘Bypass’. Emil was a talented and creative woodworker and builder. He loved his work with MAPP that would take him to Florida where he would build parks and churches. Visitation will be held on Friday from 7-9 pm at Feeney Funeral Home, Ridgewood. Funeral mass will be held on Saturday at 10:00 am at Grace Baptist Church, Ramsey. In lieu of flowers donations may be made in Emil’s name to St. Jude’s at stjude.org.
