Ellin Carroll

November 22, 1942 ~ February 25, 2023 (age 80) 80 Years Old

Tribute

Ellin Carroll – November 22, 1942 – February 25, 2023 (80 years).
Ellin Carroll passed away peacefully at her Ridgewood home on February 25, 2023.   She was predeceased by her loving parents Eleanor and Paul J. Dierks, her sister Donna Campbell, and her beloved husband Terry. Ellin is survived by her cousins Donald and Ken Schuler, Peg Mahoney and her Godson, Sean Mahoney.   Ellin leaves behind countless loving friends and ‘Bunks’ her very special rescue dog who never left her side throughout her many medical challenges.  She would often ask, “who saved who?”
Ellin valiantly fought lung cancer for five years, sustained by enduring hope and her deep faith in God and the Blessed Mother.
Ellin was born and raised in New York. She graduated Mamaroneck HS in 1960 and the University of Rhode Island in 1964.  Her professional career was focused on real estate, most recently Weichert Realtors and RealSource Association of Realtors.  Ellin was a dedicated and active member of Our Lady of Mount Carmel Parish.  Among the many ministries in which she participated were the Parish Council, heading the parish Welcoming Breakfast team, and serving as a volunteer driver for parishioners who needed assistance to attend Sunday Mass. For many years, Ellin was a Lector and Eucharistic Minister at the 8:00 a.m. Sunday Mass. She coordinated the scheduling of lectors at that Mass as well as trained the Eucharistic Ministers.
Ellin was a dedicated organizer of the annual Parish Block Party, and masterfully toiled in flipping delicious burgers.  She was an active member of Women’s Cornerstone and contributed her talents to welcoming new members as well as participating in the Ministry’s Circle of Prayer team.  She loved being a part of the ongoing Team 14.
Outside of her love of Church and faith, Ellin was a lifelong NY Yankees fan and rarely missed watching a game.  She and her husband, Terry, also loved the NY Giants football team.  Making the playoffs this year was a special reward for her faithful team support.
The countless people whose lives Ellin touched and loved feel a deep loss, but are consoled that she has joined her beloved Terry and the promised rewards of Eternal Life.
Donations in Ellin’s name may be made to The Little Sisters of the Poor, Catholic Charities, and Ramapo-Bergen Animal Refuge.
