Elizabeth Steen

Elizabeth Steen, 93, a lifelong resident of Ridgewood, passed away August 25, 2022. Predeceased by her husband, Oscar, she is survived by her loving children Nancy Steen, Marylynn Reding (Craig), and Robert Steen (Valerie). She is also predeceased by her brother, John Frederick Agel, Sr. Elizabeth is the devoted grandmother of James Penney, Danielle Jakobsen, Alicia Simons, and great grandmother of 9. She was a parishioner of Our Lady of Mt. Carmel RC Church, Ridgewood, where she was a Eucharistic Minister, a member of the Rosary Altar Society, Catholic Daughters of America, Marriage Encounter, and Marriage Preparation. Elizabeth was also a member of the St. Luke’s Prayer Group, Ridgewood H.I.L.T, a Girl Scout Leader, and was very active in Eva’s Kitchen, Paterson. In her youth, she worked at Bleachery Men’s Shop in Ho-Ho-Kus. The Funeral Mass will be Tuesday August 30, 10:00 AM at Our Lady of Mt. Carmel RC Church, Ridgewood, with interment to follow in George Washington Memorial Park, Paramus. Visiting Monday 4:00 – 8:00 PM.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donation be made to The Seeing Eye (seeingeye.org), P.O. Box 375, Morristown, NJ 07963-0375, for training of seeing eye dogs.
