Elaine Tortorella-Rubano

Elaine Tortorella-Rubano, of Ridgewood, NJ, and formerly of Brooklyn, NY, passed away peacefully at home on June 9, 2021 at the age of 91. Elaine is survived by her brothers, Joseph Sciortino and Andrew Sciortino; her three children, Toni Tortorella-Genova, Jerry Tortorella, and Vincent Tortorella, their spouses and seven grandchildren.  She was predeceased by her two husbands; Vincent Tortorella, who passed away in 1975, and Frank Rubano, who passed away in 2008; as well as her sisters Jane, Marion, Eleanor, and Anne.

Elaine was a nurse, graduating from Long Island College Hospital School of Nursing, and working for a number of hospitals and doctors offices, with her last role being a nurse at United Cerebral Palsy in Brooklyn.  Elaine lived a fulfilling life as a loving wife to two adoring husbands, daughter, sister, mother, grandmother, and friend to many. She loved to cook, read, and watch old movies on tv, and was known for her wit, sense of humor, and most of all her abiding love for her family.  

The place she held in our lives will be forever empty, but the place she holds in our hearts will be eternally full.
