6 Flowers or Condolences have been shared with support of Edward's family - View on Tribute Wall
Edward J. Ryan, 66, of New Milford, passed away suddenly and unexpectedly on March 1. He is predeceased by his parents, Joseph G. and Mary Agnes Ryan, and his brother Joseph E. Ryan. Ed is survived by his brother Jim Ryan, and sisters, Mary Pat Kieselbach, Louise Riley (Tom), Peggy Woods, Katie Toplitz (Steven), and Marian Ryan (Zoltan). He is also survived by his nephew, Jeffrey Kieselbach Jr., nieces, Michele Toplitz (Shelley) and Jaclyn Margherita (Greg), and great-nephew Jack Margherita.
Ed went by the name of Jed among his family and friends. He was a graduate of Paramus Catholic High School.
In his twenties, he moved to Northern California for new adventures and enjoyed thirty years there before returning to New Jersey ten years ago. During his time in California, he was employed by FedEx for twenty-three years. He enjoyed skiing, riding his motorcycle in the California hills, and woodworking, and had many good friends. But Ed always returned to visit family and friends in New Jersey twice a year. He also made two trips to Ireland with family, where he developed a deep interest in exploring his Irish ancestry.
He enjoyed watching sports, especially football and baseball, and particularly the Mets. Growing vegetable gardens each summer was another passion of his, which he shared with his brother Jim.
In lieu of flowers, donations in Ed’s name to the Muscular Dystrophy Association (mda.org) would be greatly appreciated. ________________________________________________________________________________ The Funeral Mass on 3/5/21 at 9:30 AM will be live streamed.
