Donald W. Schlicher

Donald W. Schlicher, 79, of Ridgewood, passed away on September 30, 2018. Donald was born on August 9, 1939 at Margaret Hague Hospital in Jersey City to Henry and Dorothy (nee: Hassler) Schlicher. He is survived by his beloved wife Joan Schlicher and their children Jeffrey Schlicher, Robert Schlicher, Garret Schlicher, and Donna Schlicher Roberts and her husband Sean. He was the cherished grandfather of Sydney, Ryley, Quinn, Keaton, Cooper, Sheamus, Austin, Ashley, and Angela. Donald is also survived by his sister Patty Sweitzer and her husband Wayne, and was predeceased by his step mother Marion Werdann Schlicher. Donald was a graduate of St. Peter’s College, and worked for the State of New Jersey Employment Service. He was an avid sports fan, and especially loved bowling and softball. The Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Friday at 10:00 AM at St. Luke’s RC Church, 340 N. Franklin Turnpike, Ho-Ho-Kus. Interment to follow at Maryrest Cemetery, Mahwah. Visiting Thursday from 4:00-8:00 PM at the Feeney Funeral Home, 232 Franklin Ave., Ridgewood. In lieu of flowers, donations in Donald’s name to The Valley Hospital, 223 N. Van Dien Ave., Ridgewood, NJ 07450, would be greatly appreciated.
