Denise Torelli, 71, passed away on Thursday, November 18th, at home comforted by her most loving husband, Lou.
Denise was born and raised in Bensonhurst, Brooklyn, graduating with honors from Franklin Delano Roosevelt High School. She went quickly into the food and catering business with determination to build her own company. After opening her first Italian salumeria in Brooklyn, she met Louis Torelli, fell in love at first sight, and they married in 1985. Denise and Lou opened L&D catering, and in 1986, they created their dream store, The Best of Everything, in Ridgewood New Jersey.
Everyone who came in to the Best of Everything knew Denise as a confident, creative, and fantastic chef. Her family and friends knew her as a loving, loyal, and beautiful woman, inside and out. Her most important role, where she shined the brightest, was as a Grandmother. Moments shared with all her grandchildren filled her heart with joy.
Denise passed on her 71st birthday. As heartbreaking as this moment in time is, spiritually, we believe her birthday in heaven will be most momentous. She will be greatly missed and forever, deeply loved.
She is survived by her soul mate and spouse, Louis Torelli, her daughter, Christina Antony and her partner Paul, her son, Frank Modica, her stepson Louis Torelli Jr. and his wife Nancy, her beautiful grandchildren, Francis, Agatha, Devyn, Dean, and Leanna, and sisters-in-law, Cecilia Donello, Lorraine Poidmani, and Rose Marie Santisi.
On Sunday, November 21st, a visitation from 2:00pm-6:00pm will be held at the Feeney Funeral Home, located at 232 Franklin Avenue, Ridgewood, New Jersey. A mass of Christian burial will be offered Monday, November 22nd at 1:00pm at Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Roman Catholic Church, 1 Passaic Street, Ridgewood New Jersey.
