Daniel Fortino

August 11, 1930 ~ January 22, 2024 (age 93) 93 Years Old


Daniel Fortino, age 93, longtime resident of Ridgewood passed away January 22, 2024. He will be reunited with his beloved wife, Anna in heaven. Daniel is survived by his children Frank (Elisa), Roger, Michael (Jodi), daughter in law Carol, grandchildren Nicole, Alison, Chelsea, Daniel, Christopher, Holly, Isabella and Vincent and great grandchildren Mason, Lexie and Benjamin. His son Dean predeceased him in 2014. Daniel is also survived by several nieces and nephews.

Daniel was born in the Bronx, NY on August 11, 1930 to Domenico Fortino and Grace Natoli. He grew up in New York City and then Port Jervis, NY. He started working on the Railroad and was drafted into the United States Army. Daniel served honorably in the US Army from May 1951 through May 1953 and served in the Reserves for five years. He continued his career on the Railroad. He married his loving wife Anna December 6, 1953 and they moved to Ridgewood in 1963 to raise their family. He worked on the Railroad for over 50 years and retired as an Engineer from New Jersey Transit in 2000. He was a member of the Ridgewood Hilt. He was funny, friendly and always had a great story to tell. This world is now emptier without him. He will be forever missed.

Friends and family are invited for visitation Monday, January 29, 2024 from 4:00-8:00pm at Feeney Funeral Home, Ridgewood, NJ. Mass is Tuesday at 10:00am at Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Church. Interment to follow at Valleau Cemetery, Ridgewood, NJ.
