He is survived by his brother Everett Roy Tarvin (Debby) of Ridgewood, NJ, his sister Sarah “Sallie” Guinessey of Sylvania, OH, his brother Janes H.T. Tarvin (Liz) of Goshen, NY, and his sister-in-law Jane Tarvin of Ridgewood, NJ. He is also survived by his aunt Marjorie Tarvin Little of Montezuma, IA, 14 nephews and nieces, 40 great-nephews and nieces, two great-great-nieces, a great-great-nephew, and many cousins. He coached softball for the Ridgewood Baseball Association. He also coached basketball for Biddy Basketball in Ridgewood, NJ. He was a very intelligent person who was a past member of Mensa International. While unable to play sports, he was a great sports fan and attended Ridgewood basketball games throughout his life. He was a familiar figure in his wheel chair at mid-court. Family and friends were at the center of Charlie’s life. He regularly communicated with friends from high school and college. He remained in close contact with as many relatives as possible, and prided himself on knowing what was happening with everyone at a given time. This trait was believed to have been inherited from his mother. He was loved by his extended family and will be rememebered as a gentle soul who saw the best in everyone. The funeral service will be private, and Charlie will be interred in the family plot in Valleau Cemetery, Ridgewood.
