Carol was born in Chicago, Ill to her parents the late John and Sara Manion. She was predeceased by her sister Mary Alitto, and brothers Bill and John Manion. She is survived by her sisters Sally Bannon, Phyllis Mattson and Rita Burns. She is Aunt to many nieces and nephews.

Carol is a 60 year resident of Ridgewood, NJ and she worked for 34 years as the attendance administrator at the Ridgewood High School, from 1974 to 2008. During those years she became friend and mentor to countless RHS students, teachers and administrators. As a member of the RHS community, she loved singing and dancing in many, many Jamboree productions where she made even more friends.
Carol was an active member of Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Catholic Church in Ridgewood. She was an active member of its chapter of the Catholic Daughters for several years, and until recently, was a helper for Martha’s Ministries.
Growing up on the shores of Lake Michigan, Carol developed a love for swimming and during her retirement years, she spent many hours enjoying this activity at Graydon Pool, the YMCA of Ridgewood, the Glen Rock Pool, and the Tri-City Wellness Center of Carlsbad, CA where she spent her winters.
In addition to swimming, her interests included her family, great food, traveling, classical music, gardening, reading and public television. She always liked a good Giants game, especially during a winning season, and she loved attending her grand children’s activities whenever she could.
Carol made friends quickly. She was known for her candidness, engaging charm, graciousness, quick wit and contagious laughter. She loved to have fun and she loved to be with people.
Mom/Grandma will be missed for sure, but will always live on in our hearts, thoughts, laughs and prayers.
