Carmen Iozzia

Carmen Iozzia, 93, of Hawthorne, passed away September 28, 2022. Beloved husband of the late Frances (Corallo), who predeceased him in 2009. Loving father of Frank and Gina, Joe and Margaret, and Terri and Chuck Nebbia. Loving grandfather of Kristin, Michael and Bridgette, Danielle and Sam, Steven, Jenna, Sondra, Harris, Anne, Molly, Sarah, and great-grand daughter Nora Leigh. Devoted brother of Carmelina Di Pasquale. A 40 year resident of Hawthorne, Carmen was a parishioner of St. Anthony’s RC Church in Hawthorne, and was a member of the San Giuseppe Santa Croce Club, also in Hawthorne. Carmen moved to the U.S. in 1955 and he met his friend and mentor Sam Caramanna on 21st Avenue in Paterson. He became Sam’s partner, and opened Custom Cut in Wilsey Square, Ridgewood in 1968. Whether he was crabbing, gardening, or tending to his fig tree, Carmen loved his beach days surrounded by family and friends. Funeral Mass will be Saturday 9:30 AM at Our Lady of Mt. Carmel RC Church, Ridgewood, with entombment to follow in Calvary Cemetery, Paterson. Friends may call Friday 4:00 – 8:00 PM at Feeney Funeral Home, 232 Franklin Ave, Ridgewood.
