Barbara Sheridan

Barbara (Gorman) Sheridan of Ramsey passed away peacefully at her home on December 17, 2019. 
Barbara was born in New York City, daughter of the late Alexander B. Gorman and Anna (Davis) Gorman.  Barbara graduated from Thorpe Secretarial High School in New York City. She later married and raised her family in New York and New Jersey.  Barbara retired from IBM following a successful career.  
Barbara’s passions included playing tennis and golf and rooting for the Yankees and the Giants.  She spent most of her summers at the New Jersey shore with family and friends. Barbara’s favorite holidays were Christmas and St. Patrick’s Day. She made an incredible corned beef and cabbage. In retirement, Barbara spent time traveling and documenting her family’s Irish heritage. Most of all, Barbara loved her family.
Barbara was predeceased by her husband and love of her life, Francis J. Sheridan and her parents, Alexander B. Gorman and Anna (Davis) Gorman. 
Barbara is survived by three daughters, Patricia Sheridan and her husband Stephen Halsch, Maureen Duran, and Eileen Oliveira and her husband Tom Oliveira; a sister Dorothy Gorman; three brothers Albert Gorman, Arthur Gorman, and Robert Gorman; five grandchildren, Michael Harley, Stephen and his wife Alison, Megan, Kevin and Brian; a great-granddaughter, Cassidy; and best friend, Rosemary Galvin.
Services and internment are private. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the The Valley Hospital Foundation at 223 North Van Dien Avenue, Ridgewood, NJ 07450. Please indicate that your gift is in Barbara’s memory and designated for Hospice Care Services.
