Mary C. Noone (nee Montgomery), 80, of Ho-Ho-Kus, NJ and formerly of Ridgewood, passed away on Thursday, February 9, 2017.  She died peacefully surrounded by her loving family.  Born on April 5, 1936 in the Bronx, NY to the late Joseph and Mary (O’Neill) Gallagher.  Her parents died when she was a young child and she was lovingly raised and eventually adopted by her aunt and uncle, Lilly and Daniel Montgomery. Mary attended Sacred Heart of Mary Academy in New York City.  After her children were in school, she went to work for State Farm Insurance for 25 years where she made wonderful friends..  She was a parishioner of St. Gabriel the Archangel Church in Saddle River, NJ.  All that knew Mary will remember her as an avid sports fan (especially the NY Giants).  Mary was a true dog lover and had many dogs over the years. She will be greatly missed by her final furry companion, Finn.

Mary’s family was the most important thing in her life and she enjoyed spending time with her six children, their spouses and her seventeen grandchildren. In her spare time, Mary enjoyed playing bridge with her friends from the Ridgewood Newcomers Club (starting in 1973).  She also played with various other bridge groups over the years and was very fond of her bridge friends.  She loved spending her summers with her family in Long Beach, NY and spending time with her dear Uncle Denie.  Mary was not only a true friend, but a fun friend who could always make you smile or laugh.

Mary was predeceased by her loving husband, James, in March, 2015 after 59 years of marriage.  She was also predeceased by her brother Stephen Gallagher, her sister Eileen Mullins and her sister-in-law, Sheila Hagaman. She is survived by her sister Betsy Sweeney and by her loving children; Liz and Peter Haynes (Wilton, CT), Jim and Amy Noone (Mahwah, NJ), Peter and Jan Noone (Mercer Island, WA), Denise and Matt Blair (Tewksbury, MA), Mary Ellen and Brian Sayre (Nanuet, NY) and Patrick and Chrissy Noone (Cincinnati, OH).  She will be deeply missed by her 17 grandchildren who fondly referred to her as “Seany”; Delia, Maureen and Sam Haynes, Mickey and Lily Noone, Thomas, Mathilda and Paul Noone, Brendan, Bridget and Connor Blair, Brian, Mary Pat, Liam and Maeve Sayre and Madeleine and Jack Noone.

The family will receive relatives and friends on Sunday, February 12th from 2-4 PM and 7-9 PM at Feeney Funeral Home in Ridgewood, NJ. The Funeral Mass celebrating Mary’s life will be held at 11 AM on Monday, February 13, 2017 at St. Gabriel the Archangel Church in Saddle River, NJ.Interment in St. Luke’s Cemetery, Ho-Ho-Kus.
