Schiavo, Carmela, (NEE: D’Amato), 89, of Midland Park, NJ, passed away March 22, 2017. Beloved wife of the late Richard, who predeceased her in 2016. Loving mother of Richard Schiavo and wife Michele, Rosemary Chersi and husband Bob, Joseph Schiavo, Carolyn Pastier and husband Mike. Loving grandmother of Ashley Tasy, Jack, and Nicholas Schiavo; Bobby, Christopher, and TJ Chersi; Michael, Megan, and Matthew Pastier, and great grandmother of Lucas Tasy. Carmela was an independent woman long before it was fashionable! She was a Great Cook who also loved fine dining, and to travel. Her most important priority, however, was spending time with her family. She will be missed by many. Carmela lived and raised her family in Rockland County, NY, before moving to Midland Park many years ago. Funeral Mass will be Saturday, 10:00 AM at Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Church in Ridgewood, with interment to follow in Ascension Cemetery, Monsey, NY. Visiting Friday 4:00 – 8:00 PM at the Feeney Funeral Home, 232 Franklin Ave, Ridgewood.
